Begin with a check-up

We don’t expect you to know that you need a root canal – that’s why it’s always best to book a dental check-up when something feels out of the ordinary. Our check-ups are charged at £110 for new patients and £95 for registered, existing patients. So, if it’s your first exam, you can rest assured that we’ll conduct a thorough assessment that helps us get to know your oral condition better.

Signs and symptoms

Unbearable tooth pain?

Tissue can become infected due to tooth decay or an injury, which may cause increased sensitivity, pain and swelling of the gums or face.

  • The tooth is turning black
  • The tooth is beginning to discolour
  • You experience persistent tooth pain
  • It hurts to bite down and eat
  • Tooth sensitivity to touch, hot or cold
  • Clear fractures, cracks or breaks in the tooth

If any of the above resonates with you, tooth decay in your tooth has likely progressed to the point where the dental pulp has become inflamed or infected.

The best option to treat the pain and save the tooth from extraction is with a root canal. The alternative would either be a pulpotomy or having the tooth pulled.
